The 44th Saas Fee "Advanced Course" from the Swiss Society for Astrophysics and Astronomy.
To be held in Engelberg, Switzerland 2-7 March 2014.
The 2014 Saas-Fee advanced course will cover the field of observational "Cosmology with Wide-Field Surveys". The choice of subject highlights the promise that wide-field surveys hold for cosmology and astronomy, and this advanced course will give a solid introduction to the topic for Ph.D. students and early-career postdocs in these fields.
The advanced courses will be taught by four internationally renowned lecturers:
- Theory / Dark Energy, Prof. Luca Amendola (Institut für Theoretische Physik - Universität Heidelberg)
- Galaxy Clustering, Dr. Camille Bonvin (Institute of Astronomy - University of Cambridge)
- Weak Lensing, Prof. Sarah Bridle (Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics, University of Manchester)
- Bayesian Methods, Dr. Roberto Trotta (Astrophysics Group, Imperial College)
The course location will be in Engelberg, a ski resort in the centre of the Swiss alps, easily accessible by public transport from Zurich Airport.
